MILAN — 12 Feb. 2026 — Around 300 volunteers have been active since January in multiple Italian cities in a prevention-through-information campaign, distributing educational materials titled “The Truth About Drugs” booklets. According to organisers that more than 500,000 booklets have already been distributed, starting in Milan and expanding to additional cities.
The initiative is supported by the European Office of the Church of Scientology in the context of its support for prevention and youth safeguarding work inspired by the work of L. Ron Hubbard. The booklets present straightforward information on substances, short- and long-term effects, and health risks.
The organisers further point to sports-community involvement. They say 100+ athletes associated with Milano Cortina 2026 have added their names to the Foundation for a Drug-Free World Honorary Register, supporting drug-prevention awareness for youth. In the organisers’ view, sport provides a natural platform for prevention conversations because it is associated with discipline, recovery and mental focus.
Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the EU, OSCE, the Council of Europe and the United Nations, noted: “Protecting young people is a public-health priority Drug Prevention and a civic responsibility across Europe. Clear, verified information supports informed choice and autonomy, and it helps communities push back against exploitation linked to drug markets.”
